Despite all of the recent press about the repeal of the 1099 reporting requirements that will heavily burden small business, the requirements have still not been repealed. The House and Senate each passed their own version of the repeal after debating how they should pay for the change. The House took a crack at the health care law while, not surprisingly, the Senate did not.
At the end of the day the reporting requirement is still in place. This leads us to the conclusion that it will still remain law until everyone can get their acts together. If the House and Senate cannot work together to solve this universally criticized provision it is unlikely that they will be able to get anything done in the next couple of years!
